Get Ready to Sing and Swing with the Cansing Instrumental Ensemble at the Vancouver Cansing Concert

CANSING INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE is a musical group that began a few years ago under the direction of Kevin Eng, who is the assistant conductor and piano accompanist for the Vancouver Cansing choir. Kevin’s exceptional improvisational and arranging skills are put to use with the ensemble, which includes Claire Lloyd on clarinet (and occasionally saxophone) and Guy Rockwell on guitar.

At the Vancouver Cansing Concert, May 2, 7pm, Cityview Church, the group is set to be featured on the popular song “Morning Has Broken,” which will include an audience singalong, as well as the trio jazz piece “Irlandaise.”

In addition to performing their own pieces, the ensemble also accompanies the choir on select repertoire.

At rehearsal, the trio’s energizing music sets the perfect tone for stretching and warm-ups, making it a wonderful addition to every session.
