Registration Now Open for UNDERLYING SPIRIT session: Jan 20 – May 5th – 2026

The website is now open for registration for our next session — UNDERLYING SPIRIT — beginning Tuesday, January 20th and ending May 5th (Concert), rehearsals are 8:00–9:15pm at Cityview Baptist Church.

This session: Underlying Spirit will explore forces that shape our world—wind, water, breath, movement, and the vastness that surrounds us. At the centre of the program will be the premiere of a newly commissioned work by composer Christine Donkin inspired by Emily Carr’s reflection: “There is something bigger than fact: the underlying spirit.”

The concert will also include the dramatic brilliance of Mozart’s Dies Irae to the flowing energy of Let the River Run, the rhythmic vitality of Soon May the Wellerman Come, Sway, Bonse Aba, and the luminous stillness of The Breath Between arranged by Mark Sirett and Long Range Forecast by Stuart Beatch. These pieces will help us contemplate the natural world not just as landscape, but as living, moving spirit.
