Vancouver Cansing Level 1 Choir (ages 5 – 6)

Vancouver CanSing Adult Choir

Help SPREAD THE NEWS.  One of the biggest challenges is getting the word out.

The theme this session will be “Dancing through Life” and the confirmed mass choir song (all choirs – 120 voices!!) will be the Leonard Cohen “Hallelujah” (requested by many to celebrate our 5th year).

I’m really excited about the eclectic repertoire – something for everyone.  I’ll send a preview of some of the songs in the next few days.

Along with our artistic team Kevin, Andrea, Lucy and Erin, I look forward to singing with you this term.

VCS youth present CLOWNS June 7th, 2:30 & 7pm

Thursday, May 15th, 2014

Vancouver CanSing Choir (VCS) youth will present the musical theatre production of CLOWNS, June 7th, 2:30 & 7pm, 4370 Sophia St (Cityview Church).  The group is directed by Gerda Blok-Wilson, accompanied by Kevin Eng and choreographed by Erin Robertson. The show will be one hour in length and admission is by donation.  VCS will also present 2 school shows, June 6th, 10:30am and 1pm. These are already full!

Craig Cassils’ musical CLOWNS was first performed at the Canadian Music Educator’s Association National Conference in 1987.  Since then, it has been performed across Canada and in the US.

The story is about a young, energetic troupe of clowns who hope to be professionals someday.  They are looking for the great secret of life and set out to consult the BIG WHEEL.  The lively story with 11 wonderful songs is one of singing and dancing, laughing and crying, searching and finding – the very elements of life itself!  We hope you can join us!

Welcome Kevin Eng!

Thursday, May 15th, 2014

Vancouver CanSing choirs are pleased to announce that Kevin Eng will be our new accompanist.  He has already begun rehearsals with Level 2 & 3 in preparation for the CLOWNS musical, June 7, 2:30 and 7pm Cityview Church.

Kevin brings a lot of experience and enthusiasm and will no doubt help build our Hillcrest neighbourhood community choir both in a musically proficient way but also in a positive and friendly atmosphere.
